General Assembly #17 & two new members

The European Health Public Procurement Alliance is delighted to announce that after an unanimous vote during the 17th General Assembly two new members have joined the association in June 2021:

  • IAZ (InkoopAlliantie Ziekenhuizen) is the largest Dutch public central purchasing body specialised in the healthcare sector. Created in 2009, they are currently composed by 10 hospital members and acting at national level. IAZ aims to improve quality and define the purchasing action plans for the future. They perceive joining EHPPA as an opportunity for knowledge transfers and emphasising the role of CPBs.

  • SFOS (Styrelsen for Forsyningssikkerhed / Danish Critical Supply Agency) is a governmental organisation established in August 2020 to face the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure the procurement of personal protective equipment.
The objective of the agency is to support the Danish society and their healthcare system in preventing and handling present and future crises of critical supply. Furthermore, SFOS will be responsible for establishing and hosting the EU medical rescEU stockpile of PPE.

With these important memberships, the EHPPA association strengthens its network across Europe and continues to establish itself as a growing and key player of the healthcare public procurement. For a full and up to date list of our members see http://www.ehppa.com/Members/3/5/3.

In addition to the administrative topics, other major points were discussed during the General Assembly. The organisation of the Pan-European Healthcare Procurement Summit in collaboration with Health Proc Europe and ECHAlliance is being pursued and is planned for September 2022. Furthermore, EHPPA members are currently working on the legal and commercial aspects of a joint procurement on PPE. The association is also being represented at different European initiatives, such as at the Structured Dialogue on medicines supply or during the brainstorming sessions on the new HERA agency.

We are also happy to announce that the 18th General Assembly of the EHPPA association will take place in autumn 2021 and we are all hoping to meet in person after three online assemblies.
