On May 7th, 2019, following the invitation of the CAIB, the Swiss Central Purchasing Body of the EHPPA (Centrale d’achats d’ingéniérie biomédicale), the French GPO RESAH was visiting the logistics platform of University hospitals of Geneva and Lausanne.

Facing a major demographic challenge, the University hospitals of Geneva and Lausanne were working since May 2016 to modernize their infrastructures and optimize their logistics platform. The need to relocate was particularly felt for central stores occupying valuable storage areas.

‍

The two hospitals had since worked to define a common solution to consolidate their stocks outside the hospitals. Since the autumn 2018, CHUV and HUG jointly operate a logistics platform. The new logistics platform is the result of a public-private partnership.

This visit between two European partners is a good example of transnational cooperation in the EHPPA framework!
