MercurHosp is a central purchasing body created in December 2013, composed by 25 hospitals and 55 attached associations (rest homes, ...) in Wallonia and Brussels, the French speaking part of Belgium and Brussels. In 2018 and 2019, MercurHosp also worked intensively in cooperation with various other purchasing centrals (best practices, joint tender).

The main objective of the organisation is to aggregate procurement activities (Public Tendering). Other projects are also conducted to share experiences and practices in other healthcare activities (Logistics, IT, HR, insurance, IT security, etc.).

Each hospital keeps an internal “Purchasing Service” which is responsible for delivery of contracts. The hospitals do not have the obligation to take part in all public tenders of MercurHosp.

It supports over hospitals, healthcare & social welfare institutions, as well as regional authorities. With more than 5,700 contracts, Resah offers tailored procurement solutions which cover all needs of its beneficiaries, across a wide range of 12 categories.

In addition, as strong advocate for sustainable and innovation procurement, Resah created its own Innovation Center to support the identification and procurement of innovative and sustainable solutions, by collaborating with a variety of innovation key stakeholders and by facilitating the access to public tenders for start-ups and SMEs. The CPB has awarded ISO 20400:2017 for sustainable procurement and ISO 26000 certifications and social responsibility.

SCR Piemonte is the central purchasing body of Piedmont Region and it was born according to Regional Law n. 19/2007 with the aim of rationalise public spending and enhance public procurement in the field of transport facilities, telecommunication and healthcare.

SCR Piemonte carries out its activity in support of both Piedmont Region and many public bodies located in its territory according to European principles of equal treatment, non-discrimination, mutual recognition, proportionality and transparency, to comply with the principles of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU), National and Regional Law.

In achieving its objectives, SCR Piemonte operates with regard to innovation concerning its own interest, as far as established in L.R. n. 19/2007 and in the Statute of SCR Piemonte, in order to provide high standards of quality to both users and the economic system, encouraging sustainable development in accordance to environmental protection rules, energy efficiency rules and safety rules.

The Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centers (Nederlandse Federatie van Universitair Medische Centra - NFU) represents the seven cooperating UMCs in the Netherlands, as an advocate for and employer of 79,000 people.

The NFU was founded in 2004 as a spin-off from the University Hospitals Association (Vereniging Academische Ziekenhuizen - VAZ), which was established in 1989.

The objective has remained the same: to ensure that agencies that decide healthcare issues in the Netherlands take into account the special role of the academic hospitals (in the past) and the UMCs (presently).

IAZ aims to improve quality and define the purchasing action plans for the future. They perceive joining EHPPA as an opportunity for knowledge transfers and emphasising the role of CPBs.

Sykehusinnkjøp HF is a public non-profit GPO, owned by the four Norwegian regional health authorities.

The company was established in December 2015 after a decision by the regional health authorities to pool all procurement resources in the public hospital sector into one strategic procurement company responsible for procurement at the national, regional and local level. Former EHPPA-member HINAS became part of Sykehusinnkjøp HF in November 2016.

The company’s portfolio covers both medical and non-medical categories.

CAIB leads the purchase of all the necessary products and services for the hospitals including: pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biomedical equipment and non-medical products. CAIB provides the supply chain for the university hospitals.

CAIB is also at the center of the process to establish and implement the annual investment plan with a team of biomedical engineers.

CAIB provides best practice contracting, collaborative purchasing and savings for his members.
